Originally The Good Companions were active in Bunbury for over 20 years when they brought their first production to Church Minshull. In 2014, at the A.G.M., the decision was made to turn the Good Companions into a dual centre group, based in the village halls of Bunbury and Church Minshull, but while there was enthusiastic support in Church Minshull, audiences in Bunbury dwindled. At the November 2015 AGM the Good Companions decided to dissolve, but to offer many of the assets to Church Minshull Vision Group, where there was a desire to create a new group to continue the theme of entertainment through Amateur Dramatics. The CM Vision Group agreed to support such a venture on 18th January 2016 and at a meeting on 15th February the new group was formed with a committee, bank account and constitution and named The Minshull Amateur Dramatics, MAD Group for short.
